Friends of Gorton Monastery
A New Life for the Monastery. Your
opportunity to help.
Here is how you can be part of the exciting
project to bring the Monastery back to life.
Become a Friend
For more than a century, The Monastery of St.
Francis and Gorton provided a spiritual home for tens of thousands
of people.
Recognised as one of the worlds most important
architectural landmarks, the Monastery has been stripped of its
treasures by vandalism. Its structure and future are now threatened
by the elements.
By agreeing to become a Friend of The Monastery,
you'll be part of a growing and enthusiastic organisation
(which has over 1000 members) committed to protecting and preserving
a magnificent building that has meant so much to so many people
throughout the years.
By becoming a friend you will be playing a vital
part in securing the future of a World Monument. Your contribution,
however small, will make a difference in ensuring that the buildings
have a future.
Friendship - The Benefits
- Regular newsletter updates sent to your home keeping you in
touch with progress on the restoration and other associated projects.
- Opportunities to take part in special events and monastery
reunions.
- Special concessions on tickets for events and admission and
goods when the building finally reopens.
